Filming at Wells Reserve at Laudholm

Skytona is a wedding videographer that has filmed two weddings at the Wells Reserve at Laudholm in Wells, Maine, one in October 2022 and one in September 2023, and both finished films are published in our portfolio. Collections start at $3,999 with no travel fees anywhere in Maine.

The Wells Reserve at Laudholm is a protected coastal reserve built around the historic Laudholm Farm campus in Wells, Maine, a short drive down the coast from our Biddeford studio. Couples are often told about the white farmhouse and the lawns, but what makes this venue extraordinary on film is the land around them: open meadows, tree lines, and coastal air that turns golden in the last hour of the day. We have filmed complete weddings here twice, in October 2022 and September 2023, and released both as finished films you can watch today. Filming at a working reserve is different from filming at a banquet hall. The site has its own rhythms and rules, the weather comes off the water, and the best frames are earned by knowing where the light will be before it gets there. We do, because we have stood on this exact ground with cameras rolling through two full wedding days.

How we film the Wells Reserve at Laudholm

Coastal golden hour

The reserve’s open meadows face wide sky, and in September and October the late-afternoon light moves fast. We build the portrait window into your timeline in advance, so the golden-hour footage is planned rather than lucky, and the ceremony coverage never competes with it.

A historic, protected site

This is a working research reserve, not a blank-slate event space. It carries its own site rules, and we plan our footprint, gear staging, and crew movement around them. A respectful crew gets better access to the property, and better access makes a better film.

Weather off the water

Coastal Wells weather can shift within an hour. We arrive with covered-gear contingencies and a plan B for every outdoor beat of the day, so a passing shower changes the schedule, not the film.

Sound on open lawns

Outdoor ceremonies on open ground swallow unamplified voices and invite wind into every recording. We microphone the ceremony directly with wind protection and redundant recorders, so your vows sound close and clear even with the breeze coming off the marsh.

The Skytona Difference

Why couples marrying at Laudholm choose Skytona

A venue this photogenic attracts a lot of vendors with pretty stills and thirty-second reels. We offer something different: two complete, published wedding films from this exact property, and a documentary process built to capture more than the scenery. Before the wedding we develop a story blueprint with you, so the film is structured around your people and not just the farmhouse. On the day we run cinema cameras, dedicated audio, and licensed drone coverage. Afterward your film is delivered through a private client portal with a cinema room built for the first watch. The land at Laudholm will do its part. Our job is to make sure the story does too.

Wells Reserve at Laudholm FAQ

Frequently asked

Yes, twice. We filmed a full wedding on the reserve in October 2022 and another in September 2023, and both finished films are published in our portfolio at skytona.com/films.

Yes. Laudholm Farm is the historic saltwater farm campus at the heart of the Wells Reserve, and the venue is commonly called by either name. Wedding events use the farm campus, and the protected reserve land surrounds it.

Collections start at $3,999 and range up to $9,999, the same published pricing as every Maine wedding we film. Wells is a short drive from our Biddeford studio, so there are no travel fees.

The last ninety minutes before sunset. Both of our Laudholm films were shot in early fall, when the low light over the meadows is at its best, and we plan the couple’s portrait window around that hour rather than leaving it to chance.

Every microphone gets wind protection and a redundant recorder, and every outdoor segment of the day has a covered alternative planned in advance. Coastal weather changes the plan, not the quality of the film.
