Careers at Skytona

A studio worth
your craft.

Cinematic wedding films. Content for serious businesses. A small studio where your craft shapes the work, not the other way around.

Our Story

A studio built on craft and standards.

We produce cinematic films for weddings and serious businesses. The work moves through a studio that treats every project as part of a larger body of work, not a transaction.

Real ownership. No layers of management between you and the work. If you want a place where your craft is felt immediately, this is it.

Find your role.

Every role below is open now. Maine based or remote, full time or contract.

  • Raw footage goes in. Cinematic work comes out. You own post-production for wedding films and business content. The bar is higher than anywhere you have worked before.

    What you will do

    • Edit wedding films from assembly through final master (15 to 60 minute features)
    • Edit business content: brand story films, promotional videos, social cuts
    • Color grade to match our cinematic look
    • Design and mix audio: dialogue, music, ambient, effects
    • Manage versioning, assets, and on-time delivery
    • Contribute to creative direction and post-production standards

    What we need

    • 4+ years editing long-form video (wedding, documentary, or narrative)
    • Expert-level DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere Pro
    • Strong color grading ability (not just LUTs; real grading instinct)
    • Sound design and mixing skills (dialogue cleanup, music scoring, SFX)
    • Portfolio that demonstrates cinematic storytelling, not just assembly edits
    • Reliable internet and a workstation that can handle 4K timelines

    Nice to have

    • Experience with motion graphics
    • Interest in workflow automation

    Six months in

In six months, you own the entire post-production pipeline. Wedding films ship on schedule. Clients comment on the quality before we ask. You have documented SOPs that a second editor could follow.

  • You lead production days. Weddings, business shoots, interviews. You understand lighting, composition, and movement well enough to make real locations look cinematic. No Hollywood budget required.

    What you will do

    • Lead wedding day coverage as primary cinematographer (8 to 14 hour days)
    • Direct and shoot business content days: interviews, B-roll, product, lifestyle
    • Operate gimbal, drone, and handheld rigs with cinematic intent
    • Manage lighting setups for interviews and controlled environments
    • Coordinate with second shooters and photographers on production days
    • Maintain and manage production gear inventory

    What we need

    • 3+ years professional video production (weddings, commercial, or documentary)
    • Strong portfolio demonstrating cinematic composition and natural lighting mastery
    • Proficiency with mirrorless cinema cameras (Sony FX series, Canon C-line, or similar)
    • Gimbal operation (DJI RS series or equivalent)
    • FAA Part 107 drone certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
    • Own vehicle and ability to travel across New England for production days

    Nice to have

    • Experience directing talent and non-actors in interview settings
    • Live audio recording skills (lavs, boom, multi-track)
    • International production experience

    Six months in

In six months, you lead production days start to finish. Footage comes back organized, backed up, and ready for edit. Clients tell us the shoot felt comfortable and professional. Your reel is growing with work you are proud of.

  • You capture stills that match the quality and intent of our films. Wedding days, headshots, product shoots, social content. Every image should feel deliberate. Not accidental.

    What you will do

    • Shoot alongside the video team on wedding days (second shooter role)
    • Capture editorial-quality portraits, details, and candid moments
    • Deliver business photography: headshots, team photos, workspace, product
    • Process and deliver through our client portal with consistent color treatment
    • Contribute to social media content with high-quality production stills and BTS

    What we need

    • 2+ years professional photography (weddings, editorial, or commercial)
    • Strong portfolio with natural light expertise and editorial sensibility
    • Proficiency in Lightroom and/or Capture One for culling and processing
    • Ability to work alongside a video team without interfering with shots
    • Reliable gear: full-frame body, fast primes, flash equipment

    Nice to have

    • Experience with product and food photography
    • Drone photography capability
    • Comfort editing in both light and dark aesthetic treatments

    Six months in

Clients receive stills that sit comfortably next to our cinematic films. Your photos are regularly selected for portfolio features and social content. The video team requests you by name.

  • You are the reason nothing falls through the cracks. Timelines, deliverables, logistics, client communication. You keep every project moving.

    What you will do

    • Manage production timelines for all active wedding and business projects
    • Coordinate shoot logistics: locations, crew scheduling, equipment, travel
    • Track deliverable status and ensure on-time delivery
    • Communicate with clients on project updates, milestones, and next steps
    • Maintain and improve production workflows over time
    • Support onboarding for new wedding and business clients

    What we need

    • 2+ years in production coordination, project management, or client operations
    • Experience with creative or media production workflows
    • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Strong written communication with clients and teammates
    • Comfort learning new internal tools quickly

    Nice to have

    • Experience in wedding planning or event coordination
    • Familiarity with CRM systems and pipeline management
    • Previous work at a production studio or creative agency

    Six months in

In six months, clients receive proactive updates before they ask. No deadline is missed. Zero time is spent on logistics firefighting. Your SOPs are the reason the studio can scale.

  • You own what we say publicly. Captions, hooks, cadence, and the judgment behind them. Someone who actually knows what to post, when, and why it will perform.

    What you will do

    • Own Skytona's social media presence across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Facebook
    • Develop and execute a content calendar aligned with business goals
    • Write captions, hooks, and CTAs in Skytona's brand voice (cinematic authority, never needy)
    • Repurpose wedding films and business content into platform-native social formats
    • Monitor engagement, track performance metrics, and adjust strategy accordingly
    • Collaborate with the creative team to plan and capture social-first content on production days

    What we need

    • 2+ years managing social media for a brand, agency, or creator (not just personal accounts)
    • Proven ability to grow organic engagement (show us the numbers)
    • Strong copywriting skills with the ability to adapt to a specific brand voice
    • Understanding of platform algorithms, trends, and content formats
    • Basic video editing for short-form content (CapCut, Premiere, or similar)

    Nice to have

    • Experience marketing luxury or premium services
    • Photography or videography skills for capturing BTS content
    • Familiarity with SEO and how social feeds into discovery
